The purpose of this blog is to begin to explore my professional identity. I am a 23 year old female from Wisconsin and will be graduating in May with a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Management and an elective studies minor that focuses on Sociology.
My career goals have changed over the course of my educational experience and I now feel that I know where I want to go with my life. After graduation my goal is to work at an advertising agency, most likely somewhere warm because I am bored with the Wisconsin winters. :)
I am currently employed with Walgreens and have been with the company for three years now. I manage the cosmetics department and sometimes help out in the pharmacy as a technician. I love where I work and who I work with, however I know that retail is not my future, but a stepping stone for my career and a means of currently paying for my education. Through working at Walgreens I have seen many sides of advertising and marketing and have gained much experience and knowledge from a client side. I have also had the opportunity to meet many professionals from other companies such as Proctor & Gamble, Revlon/Almay, Yes To Carrots, Samy Salons, Rimmel Cosmetics, and many more who have trained me on the products, the philosophies, the marketing angles, and so much more.
